Police Report: November 3 to November 9


SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: Smashing Pumpkins

At 2 a.m., masked vandals used a machete to cause $40 in damage to pumpkins on the porch of a house in the 3500 block of St. Johns Drive. The homeowner saw two miscreants commit the act on his security camera, including one wearing a Highland Park High School letter jacket. A neighbor also had some damaged pumpkins.


HIGHLAND PARK

5 WEDNESDAY

At 8:55 p.m., officers began chasing a burglary suspect after spotting a suspicious blue 1990 Dodge Dakota in the 4400 block of Bordeaux Avenue. The driver tried to evade police along Lomo Alto, Armstrong, Arcady, Roland, Mockingbird, Douglas, Fairfield, Preston, Beverly, and Eastern. After numerous traffic violations, the pickup headed southbound on the Dallas North Tollway, and the chase reached 110 mph before police lost sight of the suspect and ended the pursuit.

7 FRIDAY
At 3:30 a.m., Aaron Rashaad Williams, 34, of Arlington was arrested in the 5100 block of Hillcrest Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

At 2:20 p.m., a contractor in the 3800 block of Shenandoah Avenue reported the theft of a $400 backpack-style Echo leaf blower from the bed of a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup.

At 1 p.m., a shopper looking at neckties stole an iPhone 6 from a table inside Q Custom Clothier at Highland Park Village while an employee was distracted.

8 SATURDAY
At 1:59 a.m., Richard Rene Jaubert Jr., 20, of Dallas was arrested in the 3400 block of Potomac Avenue on an assault charge.

9 SUNDAY
At 9:14 p.m., Kymberly Ann Comer, 46, of Dallas was arrested in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive on a public intoxication charge.

At 9:20 p.m., Rodolfo Moreno, 42, of Dallas was arrested in the3700 block of Crescent Avenue on charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance.


UNIVERSITY PARK

3 MONDAY
At noon, Marx Dale Billingsley, 64, of Dallas was arrested in the2900 block of Southwestern Boulevard on a disorderly conduct charge.

Between noon and 2 p.m., a thief stole $1,617 worth of landscaping equipment from an unlocked white 1997 GMC pickup in the 3500 block of Hanover Street.

6 THURSDAY
At 11:12 p.m., the driver of a silver 2015 BMW X5 hit a parked black 2001 Land Rover in the 2700 block of Purdue Street and fled. David Tom Grinbergs, 51, was arrested on a public intoxication charge.

7 FRIDAY
At 2:34 a.m., a shoplifter stole $22 worth food from the CVS store at Park Cities Plaza.

Between 8:45 and 10:15 a.m., a burglar broke into a black 2004 Lexus sedan in the 6400 block of North Central Expressway and stole a $1,500 Dell laptop computer, $320 worth of computer accessories, $300 worth of books, and a $100 Texas Instruments calculator.

8 SATURDAY
At 3:54 p.m., Dayon Dunlap, 24, of Rowlett was arrested in the6800 block of Preston Road on an assault charge.

At 8:55 p.m., Christiane Amelia Klinker, 18, of Petaluma, Calif., was arrested in the 3400 block of Daniel Avenue on a charge of consumption of alcohol by a minor.

9 SUNDAY
At 1:20 a.m., a reckless driver crashed into a garage door in the6600 block of Airline Road, causing $3,000 worth of damage.

Between 5:15 and 5:48 p.m., a thief stole a $150 purse containing $700 worth of cosmetics, a $500 iPhone, a $200 Kate Spade wallet, and $10 in cash, from an unlocked white 2011 Volvo SUV in the 4000 block of Caruth Boulevard.
