Police Report: October 27 to November 2


SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: Locker Larceny

Between 2 and 3 p.m., a thief broke into a locker at Park Cities YMCA and stole a $2,500 Apple laptop computer, a $300 Samsung cell phone, a $100 ring, a $40 wallet, a $20 pocketknife, a $10 flashlight, and the keys to a white 2011 Ford F-150 pickup, valued at $35,000, which also was stolen.


HIGHLAND PARK

27 MONDAY    

At 2:35 a.m., Victor Alfonso Alarcon, 29, of Dallas was arrested in the 3400 block of Knox Street on a public intoxication charge.

Between 5 p.m. on Oct. 24 and 7 a.m. on Oct. 27, a thief stole 30 sheets of particle board from outside a residential construction site in the 4300 block of Arcady Avenue.

At 10:47 a.m., Michael Sterling Curry, 25, of Fort Worth was arrested in the 4700 block of Drexel Drive on two charges of assaulting a family member.

At 11:26 a.m., a resident of the 4300 block of Edmondson Avenue reported the overnight theft of a $1,300 Louis Vuitton handbag and an $800 Louis Vuitton wallet containing $200 in cash from an unlocked white 2014 Audi Q5 inside an open detached garage. By the time the victim discovered the larceny, the perpetrator already had used two of the enclosed credit cards.

28 TUESDAY

Between 7 p.m. on Oct. 27 and 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, a thief stole a $3,500 diamond-and-gold bracelet and a Visa card from a purse inside an unlocked silver 2007 Lincoln Navigator in the 4000 block of Miramar Avenue. It was the second time in less than a week that scoundrels struck the vehicle, and it was unlocked both times with valuables left in plain view.

Between 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 and 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 28, a thief stole two packages of Apple computer software and a pair of women’s running shoes from an unlocked silver 2014 Range Rover in the 3900 block of Miramar Avenue. During the same time frame, a thief stole $12 in cash from the console of a white 2013 Mercedes SL5 in the 4000 block of Miramar.

29 WEDNESDAY

At 8:50 a.m., a resident of the 3300 block of St. Johns Drivereported the theft of items from two unlocked vehicles in an open detached garage between 1 and 5 p.m. on Oct. 25. A miscreant stole a Dooney & Bourke purse from a black 2013 Mercedes E350, and a driver’s license and credit card from a black 2011 Chevrolet Suburban.

Between 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 and 8 p.m. on Oct. 29, a thief stole $7,300 worth of jewelry from the upstairs bathroom of a house being remodeled in the 3600 block of Lexington Avenue.

31 FRIDAY

At 2 a.m., Michael William Sweet, 25, of Irving was arrested onWillowwood Circle on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

1 SATURDAY

Between 9 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 10 a.m. on Nov. 1, a burglar broke into a gray 2008 GMC Yukon at an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Lomo Alto Drive and stole a third-row seat, valued at $3,000, along with $270 worth of baseball equipment and $250 worth of tennis equipment.

At 10 p.m., Pedro Viera-Oviedo, 24, of Dallas was arrested in the4600 block of Mockingbird Lane on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

2 SUNDAY

At 5:27 a.m., Daniel Raymond Ross, 27, of Dallas was arrested in the 5100 block of Preston Road on a public intoxication charge.


UNIVERSITY PARK

27 MONDAY

Between 11 p.m. on Oct. 26 and 8:13 a.m. on Oct. 27, a burglar broke into a black 2010 Cadillac Escalade in the 3900 block of Amherst Street and stole a third-row seat, valued at $1,000.

At 9:40 p.m., John Richard Bunten, 18, of University Park was arrested in the 3600 block of Southwestern Boulevard on a charge of possession of marijuana.

29 WEDNESDAY

Between 2 and 9 a.m., a thief stole a $300 pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses from an unlocked black 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe in the4300 block of Emerson Avenue. The owner of the Tahoe found a $200 Garmin GPS unit on the ground that was stolen from a neighbor’s unlocked green 2006 Honda Odyssey during the same time frame. A $100 pair of earrings also was swiped from the Honda.

30 THURSDAY

At 7:30 p.m., a shoplifter stole $312 worth of cosmetics, including two Gillette Fusion razors, from CVS in Park Cities Plaza. Elizabeth Ramon, 32, of Plano was arrested on a theft charge.

31 FRIDAY

Between 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 6 a.m. on Oct. 31, a thief stole a $300 Samsung cell phone and a $100 wallet containing $10 in cash from an unlocked black 2006 Hummer H2 in the 2900 block of Lovers Lane.

1 SATURDAY

Between 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 1, a burglar broke into a white 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 4400 block of Shenandoah Avenue and stole a third-row seat, valued at $500.

2 SUNDAY

Between 6 p.m. on Nov. 1 and 7:50 a.m. on Nov. 2, a burglar broke into a black 2011 GMC Yukon in the 6700 block of Dublin Streetand stole a $400 iPad, $200 worth of Nike clothing, and $100 in cash.

Between 11 p.m. on Nov. 1 and 9:41 a.m. on Nov. 2, a burglar broke into a gold 2002 Acura SUV and a gray 2015 GMC Yukon in the 3900 block of Glenwick Lane, and stole a $200 Tory Burch wallet.

Between 11 p.m. on Nov. 1 and 11 a.m. on Nov. 2, a thief rummaged through a white 2001 Land Rover in the 6000 block of St. Andrews Drive and stole some credit cards.

Between 6 p.m. on Oct. 30 and 1:29 p.m. on Nov. 2, a burglar broke into a black 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 4300 block of Stanhope Drive and stole a third-row seat, valued at $1,000.

Between 12:15 and 2:05 p.m., a burglar broke into a silver 2011 Lexus sedan in the 6400 block of North Central Expressway and stole a $250 Kindle reader, a $200 GoPro video camera, a $100 iPod Shuffle, $100 worth of clothing, a $25 duffel bag, and a $25 backpack.
