It’s true that Tim McGraw will be performing a free concert in the NorthPark Center northeast parking lot on Saturday. But getting tickets will require some real time and effort.

McGraw and The Band Perry will play at about 1 p.m. Saturday in an outdoor tent to commemorate the opening of the new Microsoft store at the mall. Tickets will go to the first 2,500 fans to enter the store when it opens at 10 a.m. Saturday (following a 30-minute grand-opening ceremony).

The lines start forming at 10 p.m. Friday, next to the parking garage outside Macy’s. If you’re willing to stand in line overnight, you have a chance to win some prizes, according to store officials, including an opportunity to meet McGraw.

I’d rather spend the time in the Apple Store, rather than sitting through a 30 minute presentation on bug ridden software.
