Run With Villalba in ‘Fired Up 5K’ This Sunday

State Rep. Jason Villalba and Town North YMCA are teaming up to bring you the Fired Up 5K this Sunday. Many area businesses such as Dougherty’s Pharmacy are helping out, and even Parish Episcopal School’s band will be there to play along. You still have two days to register.

The “fun run” starts at 8 a.m. and has a $10 registration fee, while the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. and has a $30 registration fee. Registration begins at 7 a.m.

The 5K will begin at the Dallas Fire Department Station #2 with Villalba firing the start. After winding through the neighborhood, it will end at the Town North YMCA athletic field, and award will be given out at 10 a.m.

All participants will get a short-sleeved T-shirt, while the first 500 5K runners will get a long-sleeved “dry-fit” T-shirt.

Did we mention the proceeds go toward the Town North YMCA Endowment? Fun and a good cause. What could be better?
