Villalba Has Big Plan For Smaller Districts
It’s no secret that State Rep. Jason Villalba (R-Dallas) has been a proponent of the home-rule initiative for Dallas schools. But while that effort is spinning its wheels, he’s come up with another idea.
A story today in The Dallas Morning News explains the possibility that Villalba might draft legislation to be introduced next year that would split up Dallas ISD into several smaller school districts based on geography and demographics — something similar to the boundaries in San Antonio. While it’s still very preliminary, what do you think of this concept?
