Here’s a Twist on the Movies in Pools Trend

MPW-48904Most of the public events featuring screenings at swimming pools cater to families and showcase kid-friendly films with widespread mainstream popularity.

But The Lofts at Mockingbird Station is trying a different approach with its first Dive-In Movie Night on Thursday by showing the raunchy comedy Wet Hot American Summer, the cult classic starring Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Janeane Garofalo, and Amy Poehler.

You can watch the movie either from the pool deck or while floating in the water. Admission is free, and you can score popcorn and a drink for $5, with all proceeds benefiting the Dallas Film Society. There also will be food from Cafe Herrera and a bar serving mixed drinks.

Showtime is 8:30 p.m. It would help if you sent an RSVP, which you can do here.
