HPHS Drama Students Sing ‘The Sound of Plaid’
Call it a match made in thespian heaven: The Highland Park High School theater department will start the school year with a production of the musical “The Sound of Plaid.”
The show is a follow-up to “Forever Plaid,” which became a hit following its off-Broadway debut in 1990. The story is likewise set in the 1960s, following a group of students trying to save their school music program from budget cuts. It features new songs and characters, and even a sci-fi twist.
The HPHS shows will be held in Palmer Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 13, and at 2 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 14. Tickets are $10 for reserved seating and $8 for general admission, and they go on sale on Sept. 2 at the HPHS box office (or they’re available at the theater, of course). For more information, call 214-780-3881.
