Bank of Texas broke ground this week on renovations to its Hillcrest Avenue location in University Park.

The exterior design renovations at the two-story facility will include glass, stone, and brick intended to complement the surrounding neighborhood architecture. The interior also will be redesigned with a more open floor plan. Construction is slated for completion in May 2015.

The project also includes replacing the existing walk-up ATM machine with a covered drive-up ATM, along with two covered drive-through lanes. The office building will feature an extra 8,000 square feet of space that the bank will lease to an outside tenant.

Also during the groundbreaking ceremony, the bank donated $1,000 to After-School All-Stars North Texas, a Dallas-based nonprofit that provides a variety of after-school programs.

Bank of Texas plans a similar renovation for its location on Walnut Hill Lane in Preston Hollow later this year.
