Spieth Hosts First Youth Tournament in Austin
Jordan Spieth seems to be everywhere in the golf world these days. He’s the cover boy for the current issue of Golf Digest, and is busy preparing for the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup playoffs and his first Ryder Cup appearance.
Yet the former Jesuit standout still found time this week to host the inaugural Under Armour Jordan Spieth Championship, a youth tournament at the UT Golf Club in Austin.
The event, which was part of the American Junior Golf Association, drew a field of some of the top junior golfers in the country, most of who aspire to follow in the footsteps of Spieth, a former AJGA Player of the Year who was named the PGA Tour’s top rookie last year.
