Celeb Pastry Chef Bake Sale to Benefit Duck Team 6
Empire Baking Company will host its second Pop-Up Celebrity Pastry Chef Bake Sale on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until sold out, at its Lovers Lane location.
The event will feature Laurel Wimberg of Consilient Hospitality and all proceeds will go to Duck Team 6. Wimberg selected the beneficiary, which is a group of independent rescuers who save street dogs in the Dallas area.
Wimberg has been in the restaurant business since 1992, and has been a pastry chef in Dallas since 2006. She was featured in Leslie Brenner’s “Best in DFW: Desserts” in 2011, and this year was nominated for a Culturemap Tastemaker Award and named “DFW: Chef to Watch” by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
