You don’t have to travel far to celebrate the stars and stripes on Friday, when the Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association will hold its annual July 4th parade and celebration.

The festivities get underway at 10 a.m. at Kramer Elementary School, and will include patriotic music, a best-dressed pet contest, face painting, refreshments, and other activities for all ages. The parade will feature a fire engine, vintage cars, children and their parents dressed for the occasion, either walking or riding bikes, scooters, skates, or wagons.

The events are free, of course, and are sponsored by the Neighborhood Volunteers in Patrol and by the Kramer Elementary PTA.
