SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Between 8:28 and 8:35 p.m. on June 11, a shoplifter stole $47 worth of Head & Shoulders shampoo from the CVS store at Park Cities Plaza.


HIGHLAND PARK

12 THURSDAY
At 7:30 a.m., a driver reported being the victim of a hit-and-run accident in the 4500 block of Mockingbird Lane. After some confusion about which way the driver was traveling in a tan Jeep Wrangler, police determined the Jeep was struck on the left side by a black Chevrolet pickup traveling northbound on Roland Avenue. The driver of the pickup got out to survey damage to his truck, then left without exchanging information.

13 FRIDAY
At 9:20 a.m., a resident of the 3200 block of Dartmouth Avenue was scratched five times in the leg by her neighbor’s cat, prompting her to receive a tetanus shot at an urgent-care clinic. A town ordinance requires the black-and-white tabby, named Roy Orbison, to be quarantined for 10 days at a veterinary clinic.

At 11 a.m., a vandal shattered a window on a white BMW X5 in the 3800 block of Lexington Avenue. Its owner heard the car alarm while playing tennis at Davis Park. The incident caused $300 in damage, but nothing was reported stolen.


UNIVERSITY PARK

9 MONDAY
At 10:15 a.m., a resident of the 4000 block of Hanover Street reported the theft of a $1,500 Apple Mac Pro computer from a house between May 29 and May 31.

Between 10:45 and 10:50 a.m., a thief stole a $50 Nine West purse containing $300 worth of cosmetics from the open trunk of a gray 2013 Chevrolet Traverse at Park Cities Baptist Church.

At 6 p.m., Patrick Taylor Chisolm, 50, of Dallas was arrested in the 4100 block of Purdue Street on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

10 TUESDAY
At 9:01 a.m., an employee of University Park United Methodist Church reported the theft of a $600 Dell laptop computer and a $500 LCD projector on June 6.

At 2:30 p.m., someone reported that a man exposed himself outside Hyer Elementary School. He fled before police arrived.

Between noon and 2:30 p.m., a thief stole three copper gutters, valued at $1,200, from a house under construction in the 3700 block of Hanover Street. Later the same day, someone reported a theft involving $11,000 worth of copper at the same location.

11 WEDNESDAY
Between 9 a.m. on June 10 and 8 p.m. on June 11, a burglar broke into a house in the 3700 block of Granada Avenue and stole two rings and a Cartier watch.

12 THURSDAY
Between June 6 and June 12, a thief stole four copper downspouts, valued at $600, from University Park United Methodist Church.

At 2:41 p.m., a resident of the 3500 block of Asbury Avenue reported the theft of a $7,250 pear-shaped diamond ring from the bathroom vanity of a house.

At 2:55 p.m., a hit-and-run driver struck a cyclist in the 6500 block of Douglas Avenue, damaging a Carrera Crossfire hybrid bicycle.

13 FRIDAY
At 5 a.m., Stephanie Ann Villareal, 26, of Dallas was arrested in the 8400 block of Preston Road on a public intoxication charge.

At 12:17 p.m., someone reported the theft of $2,000 worth of copper, including two downspouts, on June 6 from a house under construction in the 3600 block of Centenary Drive.

Between 6:20 and 8:40 p.m., a burglar broke into a white 2007 Chevrolet Equinox in the 7700 block of Turtle Creek Boulevard and stole a $20 leather purse containing a $10 wallet.

14 SATURDAY
At 11:01 p.m., Holt Phillips Gandy, 18, of Dallas was arrested in the 3400 block of Haynie Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

15 SUNDAY
At 3:40 a.m., Alexa Pauline Grasher, 21, was arrested in the 3400 block of Southwestern Boulevard on a public intoxication charge.

Between 11 p.m. on June 14 and 6 p.m. on June 15, a burglar broke into an attached garage in the 4500 block of Normandy Avenue and stole three bicycles of undetermined value.

Due to a records system change in the records at the Dallas Police Department, Dallas reports are unavailable this week. We are working with DPD to obtain relevant incident reports and hope to resume providing them soon.
