If you haven’t heard by now, Highland Park Town Hall has undergone a massive renovation, and town officials are ready to celebrate. Head out to 4700 Drexel at 4 p.m. on June 5 for some fun. Sign the official scroll to be placed in the time capsule, get some historical perspective by Pierce Allman, and enjoy some treats from La Duni and Mi Cocina.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra string quartet will also be there, as will acclaimed soprano Angela Turner Wilson (daughter of my alma mater’s president, R. Gerald Turner).

For the kids, there will be an educational crafts and insects display (read: butterflies) thanks to the Texas Discovery Gardens.

The formal invite also says there’s an additional surprise, so meet me there to find out what it is!
