Highland Park will again have home-field advantage during the third round of its playoff run.

The Scots will open at home in their Class 4A Region II quarterfinal series against Prosper, with the first game set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Scotland Yard.

The second game in the best-of-three will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Prosper, with a third game, if necessary, to be played at 1 p.m. Saturday back at Scotland Yard.

HP has played four of its five postseason games at home thus far. The Scots (24-12) swept Adamson over the weekend to run their winning streak to four games.

The Eagles (26-9) scored 27 runs in a two-game sweep of Woodrow Wilson in the area round, which followed a sweep of Terrell in the bi-district round. They tied for the District 9-4A title during the regular season.

Of course, the matchup offers the Scots a chance to avenge last year’s upset loss to the Eagles in a three-game series in the bi-district round of the playoffs. Prosper, which was making its debut at the Class 4A level, advanced to the regional semifinals last year before losing to Whitehouse.

In their previous meeting this season, Prosper rallied for a 4-3 win in the Collin County Invitational tournament on Feb. 27. HP pitching ace Layne Looney homered in that game, although he did not take the mound.
