Highland Park will be in familiar territory this weekend as it chases another title in the Texas High School Lacrosse League state tournament in suburban Houston.

The Scots (14-5) swept through the super regional round of the playoffs last weekend in Austin, scoring an 11-3 victory over Houston Kinkaid and a 6-2 win over Austin Westlake.

Now HP will turn its attention to a matchup with another perennial state title contender, ESD, which was the runner-up last season and claimed the SPC championship a few weeks ago. The Eagles (16-1) defeated the Scots 10-7 in their regular-season meeting on March 21. Their most recent meeting at the state tournament came in 2008, when HP won 9-3 in the championship game.

Find an impressively detailed breakdown of the matchup at StickStar Lacrosse, which also will live-stream the state tournament games on its website.

The Scots have won five state titles in the past decade, including three straight from 2008 to 2010. The most recent crown came in 2012.

The other semifinal on Saturday matches up Jesuit and The Woodlands, with the championship game slated for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Friendswood High School.
