SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: Take a Seat

Between 8:30 p.m. on April 17 and noon on April 18, a burglar broke into a black 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 3900 block of Centenary Avenue and stole the third-row seats, valued at $750.


HIGHLAND PARK

18 FRIDAY
At 11:33 p.m., officers busted a party featuring several teenagers at a house in the 4500 block of Lorraine Avenue. Some fled on foot, but others refused orders to leave and were escorted out. Police issued citations to four teens, at least three of which are athletes at Highland Park High School, for being minors in possession. One of the teens was spotted running inthe 4700 block of Lomo Alto Drive, one was found in a nearby backyard, and another was discovered hiding in the attic.

20 SUNDAY
At 11:18 p.m., Plutarco Mesta, 48, of Dallas, was arrested in the4200 block of Potomac Avenue on a public intoxication charge.


UNIVERSITY PARK

14 MONDAY
At 8:21 a.m., a homeowner reported that a vandal egged a house in the 3700 block of Bryn Mawr Drive on April 5, causing $500 in damage.

16 WEDNESDAY
At 4:30 p.m., Stacey Noel Pross, 42, of Dallas, was arrested in the8000 block of Tulane Boulevard on a public intoxication charge.

17 THURSDAY
Between April 4 and April 17, a thief stole a $3,500 Trek Madone bicycle from an unattached garage in the 4100 block of San Carlos Drive.

At 12:04 p.m., David Tom Grinbergs, 51, of University Park, was arrested in the 7000 block of Preston Road on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

18 FRIDAY
At 12:50 p.m., Tracy Lane Rabey, 48, of Dallas, was arrested in the 4100 block of Lovers Lane on a public intoxication charge.


DALLAS

14 MONDAY
At 1:10 p.m., two shoplifters attempted to open a display case containing sunglasses inside Tyler’s at Inwood Village, but could not pry it open with an unknown tool. After being confronted by a store employee, the duo fled in a white 2002 Mercedes coupe.

At 7:23 p.m., a thief tried to purchase $7,203 worth of clothing, shoes, jewelry, and other items from Nordstrom at NorthPark Center with a stolen credit card and a forged Texas driver’s license. Angela Lopez, 36, was arrested on a fraud charge and two charges of tampering with government documents.

At 8:45 p.m., a shoplifter stole $319 worth of fragrances from Macy’s at NorthPark Center. Mandel Millender, 49, was arrested on a theft charge.

15 TUESDAY
Between 9:45 p.m. on April 14 and 9:53 a.m. on April 15, a burglar broke into a green 1998 Honda sedan at an apartment complex in the 4400 block of Cole Avenue and stole a $137 Panasonic radio.

Between 7:30 p.m. on April 14 and 10 a.m. on April 15, a burglar broke into a black 2010 Ford SUV at an apartment complex in the4300 block of Cole Avenue and stole a $1,200 Asus laptop computer and a $100 mobile generator.

Between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., a thief stole $4,520 worth of weapons, ammunition, and hunting accessories from the bed of a blue 2013 Ford pickup at an apartment complex in the 4600 block of Cole Avenue. The stolen items included a $1,800 Colt AR-15 rifle.

At 5:10 p.m., two shoplifters stole three pairs of denim shorts, two dresses, and two knit tops from the Express store at NorthPark Center. Latosha Lashon McWilliams, 37, and Shatairra Darlene Guinyard, 28, were each arrested on theft charges.

At 5:53 p.m., a shoplifter stole $156 worth of Ralph Lauren men’s fragrances from Macy’s at NorthPark Center. David Andrew West, 47, was arrested on a theft charge.

16 WEDNESDAY
Between 1 and 2 a.m., a thief stole a customer’s $800 Louis Vuitton wallet off the bar at BJ’s NXS in the 3200 block of Fitzhugh Avenue. The wallet contained $20 in cash and a debit card that was later charged with $26 at McDonald’s and 7-Eleven.

At 2:45 p.m., a shoplifter stole three bracelets and two watches, with a total value of $2,025, from Neiman Marcus at NorthPark Center. Krista Gail Walker, 36, was arrested on a theft charge.

At 3:20 p.m., a thief walked into Jenny Craig in the 5300 block of West Lovers Lane and began asking questions of the receptionist. The miscreant later asked to use the restroom, which required walking past several offices with open doors. After the thief left the office, the receptionist noticed that two credit cards and $80 in cash were missing. One of the credit cards already was charged with $2,000 before it was cancelled.

At 4 p.m., a shoplifter grabbed a $150 pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses from Macy’s at NorthPark Center, then put them on and left the store without paying. Jose Elias Guzman, 18, was arrested on a theft charge. A juvenile also was arrested.

At 4:35 p.m., a shoplifter stole a $60 pair of Jessica Simpson shoes from Dillard’s at NorthPark Center. Sheryl Demesm Landry, 56, was arrested on a theft charge.

17 THURSDAY
At about 3 p.m., a burglar broke into a black Mercury at Preston Center and stole a $500 purse containing credit cards and cosmetics, and $100 in cash.

At 8:30 p.m., a shoplifter stole a $160 pair of sunglasses from Macy’s at NorthPark Center. Dustin Aaron Regnold, 21, was arrested on a theft charge.

19 SATURDAY
At 2 p.m., a shoplifter stole $377 worth of merchandise from Dillard’s at NorthPark Center. The stolen items included $152 worth of women’s sportswear, a $72 necklace, two women’s scarves valued at $53, and three earrings valued at $40. Hadra Kemal Mohammed, 39, was arrested on a theft charge.

At 5:30 p.m., two shoplifters stole $1,375 worth of merchandise from Macy’s at NorthPark Center. The stolen items included eight purses valued at $639, 12 pairs of underwear valued at $346, nine shirts valued at $254, five items of baby clothing valued at $118, and a $17 phone case. Sofia Miranda, 22, and Teresa Alvarado, 19, were each arrested on theft charges.

At 5:45 p.m., a burglar broke into two cars at NorthPark Center. The thief took a $200 car stereo and a $15 iPhone charger from a beige 2006 GMC pickup, and stole $20 in cash and a $10 car stereo from a silver 2006 Suzuki sedan.

20 SUNDAY
At about 5:50 a.m., a burglar broke the glass door of the W.O.W. boutique in the 4500 block of McKinney Avenue and stole 50 women’s dresses valued at $5,000.

Between 1:30 and 3 p.m., a burglar broke into two vehicles in the5000 block of Tracy Street. Stolen items from a silver 2002 Mercedes SUV include a $350 Montblanc pen, a $250 Cole Haan purse, a $250 La Tour Eiffel wallet, a $150 pair of leopard-skin trifocals, and a $125 red leather wallet. Stolen items from a silver 2007 Lexus SUV include a $700 iPad, $250 worth of workout clothes, a $200 pair of Natori pajamas, and a $150 flat iron.

    I see we have another 3rd row seat bandit, is there really that big of a black market for those things? And who leaves an assortment of firearms unattended in the bed of a truck? If you’re going to keep firearms, locked them up inside your residence and not your vehicle. If you’re going to transport them, don’t leave them unattended. Anyhow, I’m not sure what work has been done to that AR but your can buy a New LE 6920 Colt for around $1,000-1,200.
