Spieth Makes Solid Debut at Masters
Jordan Spieth was able to shake off the nerves and the pressure of a featured pairing in his Masters debut on Thursday.
The Preston Hollow native and former Jesuit standout shot a 1-under-par round of 71, and is three strokes off the lead held by Bill Haas heading into the second round today.
Spieth, 20, is paired with Rory McIlroy and fellow Masters newcomer Patrick Reed for the first two rounds in Augusta, Ga. The trio will tee off today in the final group at 12:59 p.m., with coverage on ESPN.
