Show’s Over on Shenandoah
A University Park resident is missing half a million dollars’ worth of guitars.
At 2 p.m. on Tuesday, seven guitars with a combined value of $521,000 were reported stolen from a house in the 4400 block of Shenandoah Avenue. The theft happened sometime after Jan. 21, according to a University Park Police Department incident report.
The guitars’ value ranged from $1,000 (a Telecaster) to $200,000 (a 1963 Guild Thunderbird). The stolen instruments also include a Gibson acoustic valued at $150,000 and pair of Stratocasters — one from 1960, the other from 1962 — valued at $50,000 apiece. Also reported stolen was a Fender Princeton reverb amplifier valued at $3,000.
The only narrative provided in the incident report is “Unknown suspect stole several items from the victim.” Indeed.
