Wrestlers Pin Down Regional Title
Highland Park will be well represented next weekend at the Class 4A state wrestling meet in Austin after winning the team title at the Region 3 meet on Saturday in suburban Houston.
The Scots held off runner-up Huntsville in the team standings and had seven wrestlers qualify individually for state in their final season at the 4A level.
Stephen Dieb was named the regional wrestler of the year after claiming the 145-pound title. Other regional champions for HP included Keegan Martin (132 pounds), Jackson Stafford (152 pounds), and Michael Thornton (195 pounds).
Other state qualifiers for the Scots are Matt Kroencke (fourth place, 126 pounds), Connor Creek (second place, 160 pounds), and Christian Lorenzoni (third place, 182 pounds).
