Yavneh Academy will host Zach & Maddie’s Mitzvah Blood Drive & Bone Marrow Registration from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday in Pollman Hall.

Maddie White, for whom Yavneh first dedicated its annual drive, has required a number of surgeries and the transfusion of hundreds of pints of plasma, whole blood, and platelets. Despite a hospitalization last fall, Maddie is a thriving eighth-grader at Parish Episcopal School.

The event’s other namesake, Zach Guillot, is also a Parish Episcopal student. Zach has spent much of the last year in Seattle, battling leukemia and fielding phone calls from superheroes.

Carter Blood Care will again lead the blood drive, and Delete Blood Cancer  will be registering prospective bone marrow donors.

Walk-ins are welcome, but you can make an appointment by emailing Deb Silverthorn at info@yavnehdallas.org or calling 972-839-6916.
