Two Churches to Host Big-Name Authors
Rod Dreher, a former columnist for The Dallas Morning News, won rave reviews last year for The Little Way of Ruthie Leming, a tribute to the small-town life embraced his late sister and her husband. (I read it because Park Cities People‘s owner, Wick Allison, thought so much of the book that he purchased copies for all of his employees.) Dreher will be at Highland Park Prebysterian Church on Wednesday, discussing “A Faith-Full Life” at noon in Elliott Hall and then signing copies of the book. Admission is free, but the boxed lunches are all already spoken for. (I know, I know; I should have told you about this much sooner.) For more information, call 214-525-4217.
Former Today anchor Jane Pauley will be at Highland Park United Methodist Church on Thursday evening to promote her new book, Your Life Calling: Reimagining the Rest of Your Life. Her 7 p.m. program as part of the “Authors Live!” series is free, but a 6 p.m. reception, available by reservation only, will cost you $30. However, you’ll also get a copy of the book. For more information, call 214-523-2240.
