Trustees Schedule Workshop on Facilities Plan
If you enjoyed this debate about dealing with Highland Park ISD’s growing population, then you might want to be at McCulloch Intermediate School on Tuesday afternoon, when the Board of Trustees will discuss the district’s master facilities plan.
Mayor Williams of Highland Park, Texas said there were no demographic issues back in 2012. I can’t hold the chuckling any longer.
Maybe a workshop idea would be to simply “wake up” from the deep sleep. Crises after crises, and still the same old mantra. How about some foresight instead of dealing with problems when it gets out of control.
I can see the naysayers have “scatted” on the blog. Like my comment above, I believe there is no foresight with folks who represent the town. Let’s see, the children suffer because of the lack of planning, private property owners in Highland Park are airplane sprayed with toxic chemicals to combat an out of control West Nile Virus because of laziness with prevention by our elected town council, and, what I believe was the most egregious violation of our private property rights. My gosh, my gosh, my gosh.
I thought you guys on the HP town council were supposedly a conservative bunch. I am amazed the residents allowed this, yet the council and mayor and yes, the folks running the town in administration, allowed a childrens water fountain drinking bowl to remain infested for days with mosquito larvae this past summer in Abbott Park. How hard could this have been to spot and simply fix? i’m going to send in my resume because it seems like some care free hours.
And the only folks who apparently suffer are the children who our officials are supposedly given a duty to protect. HP made a promise and have a duty to run this town accordingly, but have driven this town to it’s wits end. I believe it is only when residents vote out some folks and fire some who love to resume build and pretend to be a politician. Only my opinion.
