Jessica Marceaux & John Dale
Jessica Caroline Marceaux and Dr. John Robert “Jack” Dale were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Sept. 28 at the Academy of the Sacred Heart Chapel in New Orleans. The nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor Christopher H. Nalty. A reception followed at Antoine’s Restaurant, where guests were treated to a buffet meal of traditional French Creole food and danced to the rhythms of Motown band Sha’on and the Girls. On the eve of the wedding, a small, intimate rehearsal dinner for family and wedding party was hosted by the groom’s parents at Ralph’s on the Park, and a larger “Post Toast Dessert Celebration” followed afterwards at Galatoire’s Restaurant.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jay Fortier of New Orleans. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Carroll Victor Bellau and the late Mr. Bellau of New Orleans and the late Dr. and Mrs. Amilcar Peter Fortier.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Becker Dale of University Park. He is the grandson of Mrs. John Lawrence Dale and the late Mr. Dale of Dallas and Dr. Robert William Brown and the late Mrs. Brown of Fort Worth.
Jessica was given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle on the arm of her stepfather. The bride chose a floor-length, custom Lula Kate gown with pleated organza bodice and cap sleeves and embroidered floral details accompanied by a sweep train and cathedral-length veil. She carried the childhood rosary of her late grandfather encircling a fragrant bouquet of white anemones, white roses, and greens. The bride surprised her grandmother by wearing the grandmother’s wedding dress for her “going away” outfit.
The bride graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans, a Catholic preparatory school. She received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Louisiana State University. As a debutante, Jessica was presented by the Bachelors Club of New Orleans and the Pickwick Club. She was a maid in the courts of Prophets of Persia and the Krewe of Mystery. Jessica was also a member of the Junior League of New Orleans and is currently a member of the Junior League of Dallas. She has been a legal recruiter but is now working in sales at a Highland Park boutique.
The groom is a graduate of Cistercian Preparatory School and received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Duke University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Dr. Dale earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and his M.B.A. from Tulane University. He is currently in residency at Baylor University Medical Center.
Following their honeymoon trip to Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos, the couple has made their home in Dallas.
