It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Meet the Westcotts

Our esteemed publisher, Patricia Martin, received Chart Westcott’s Christmas card, which has been discussed this week in the comments on a previous blog post.

For those of you not as lucky as Pat, let me describe the card. The underside of the cover identifies Westcott’s family: his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, and their children. The main message inside, printed in a cursive font, goes like this:

Chart Westcott and his entire family extend to you their warmest wishes for a joyous Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

2013

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Romans 15:13

As opposed to the Christmas card that Pat received from state Sen. John Carona, there’s nothing in Westcott’s card that identifies it as political advertising. But that’s OK, I guess, because there’s also nothing in Westcott’s card that says he’s running for office.

(For the uninitiated, Westcott is one of three Republicans seeking to replace Dan Branch as the representative for Texas House District 108. The winner of March’s primary will face Democrat Leigh Bailey in November.)

Thank you for clarifying the origin of this card. I received one and was racking my brain to figure out how I knew this family. I don’t. Which one is the mother and which one is the sister-in-law? That Life Style Lift is amazing.
