GOP Field in District 108 Confirmed

Although we posted a photo of Court Alley filing his candidacy, his name does not appear on the candidates list on the Dallas County Republicans’ website. I’ve left a message for James Carter, the man you saw in filing photos of Chart Westcott and Morgan Meyer, but I was told he’s still furiously trying to confirm all of the late filings; the deadline was 6 o’clock last night.

Update at 3:32: Lo and behold, Alley’s name is now listed on the GOP website. We now return to previously posted programming.

Nonetheless, Alley and his team were out walking the streets of the district on Saturday, trying their best not to slip and fall on the ice. And, yes, the eagle-eyed among you may recognize former Park Cities People reporter Sarah Bennett as part of that campaign team. Needless to say, such activities would have been frowned upon if she were still on my staff.

Meanwhile, Westcott’s campaign is hosting a Christmas party and toy drive at the Museum of Biblical Art. “Operation Santa” is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

One last note on the District 108 race: The Dallas County Democrats confirmed that Leigh Bailey is their only candidate, so she’ll be waiting to take on whoever the Republicans nominate in March.

I’ve got my favorite so far, but HD 108 voters definitely have 3 great choices for State Rep. Ready for the primary and negativity to be over so we can focus on turning Dallas dark red next fall.
