New Shuttle Service Thanks to SMU ‘Big iDeas’

Guys! This is exciting. Starting Sept. 7, the Oasis Express Shuttle will run from SMU to White Rock Local Market on the first two Saturdays of each month, minus October. The shuttle bus goes to and from between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Look for the shuttle at the flagpole. (Look! It even tweets!)

Whom do we have to thank for this wonderful addition? None other than SMU students Gabriella Padgett, Paul Curry, and Lisa Walters, who pitched the concept through a proposal in Provost Ludden’s “Big iDeas” competition.

“Going to a farmer’s market and getting off campus were things that were missing from my college experience until my sophomore year,” Padgett said in a statement. “I wanted to make it possible for students to have the opportunity to be exposed and be part of the local farming and business communities that house SMU.”
