UConn Will Be First Opponent in New Moody

SMU officials announced today that three-time men’s basketball NCAA champion the University of Connecticut will be the opponent for the Mustangs in the first game in the renovated Moody Coliseum oat 1 p.m. on Jan. 4.

The American Athletic Conference contest will also be nationally televised.

In addition to the Huskies, SMU will face every AAC opponent at home. That means storied programs like Cincinnati, Temple, Memphis, and Louisville will be making their way to Dallas to face the Ponies.

Moody Coliseum is undergoing a $47 million renovation that will include many new and improved features, including a renovated main entry lobby, expanded concourses with raised ceilings, club seats, loge boxes, private suites, group suites, new event space, offices, team locker rooms, and meeting space.

The rest of SMU’s men’s basketball schedule will be released at a later date.
