Blue Wave Swimmers Named All-Americans

The National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association has named four Highland Park swimmers to the 2012-2013 All-American team.

Kate Boyer, Meredith Kelly, Lauren Murski, and Annelyse Tullier earned their prestigious honors while helping the Highland Park girls swim team win their 12th University Scholastic League state championship in 13 years last February in Austin.

The National Federation of High Schools reports there were 160,456 girls participating in high school swimming last year on 7,221 teams. To be named All-American, swimmers and relay teams must post a time or score in the top 100 in the nation.

Boyer earned individual All-American honors for her performance in the 50-yard freestyle. She won gold in the 50 free at state, and placed among the top 50 of the 160,456 high school swimmers in the country. Boyer, along with Annelyse Tullier, Meredith Kelly, Lauren Murski also earned All-American recognition for their performance in the 200 medley relay.
