Highland Park Finishes Second in Lone Star Cup
Highland Park finished second to Cedar Park in the Class 4A division of the Lone Star Cup.
The University Interscholastic League’s Lone Star Cup recognizes five high schools (one in each of the five classifications) based on overall team achievement in a variety of sanctioned athletic and academic championships. All UIL member high schools in good standing are included for contention.
The UIL Lone Star Cup program began during the 1997-98 season.
Cedar Park tallied 108 points, while Highland Park finished with 98. Georgetown was third with 84. The other classification winners were: Southlake Carroll (5A), Argyle (3A), Salado (2A), and Weimar (1A).
Highland Park has won nine Lone Star Cups. Its last win came in 2007-08.
