HPISD Gifts: May Edition

The district received more than $1 million in donations last month; here’s a look at  the breakdown.

$440,000 from the MIS/HPMS PTA to be used for instruction materials (in-kind), technology items, and tuition reimbursement (in-kind) for both MIS and HPMS; and shared gifts for technology, professional development, supply reimbursement (in-kind), faculty recognition (in-kind), copy-machine lease, tuition reimbursement for shared employees (in-kind), principal discretion, and salary contribution to the district

$294,655 from UP Elementary’s PTA to be used for curriculum and instruction, capital outlay, desk, rolling shelves, table/chairs, lease agreements for copier/postage meter, principal discretion, staff development and travel, summer library staffing, and technology and technology supplies

$152,905 from Bradfield’s PTA to be used for instructional supplies and materials, teacher salary support, copier leases, staff development for Lucy Calkins, staff development-general, office-replacement camera, building and grounds/school maintenance, library portable shelving, art tables, principal discretion, technology, teacher salary support for Master’s tuition, teacher appreciation, HPISD salary support, and the Johnny O’Leary Memorial

$36,000 as an in-kind gift from the Bradfield PTA for “Johnny’s Place,” a memorial garden in honor of student Johnny O’Leary, who passed away this year.

$21,720 as an in-kind gift to the district from the HPHS Cafeteria PTA. This gift will go to a four-unit stainless-steel gas fryer combo and the vent-hood modification for the new equipment

$12,347 as an in-kind gift to the district from the Hyer Cafeteria PTA. This gift will go to a a new charbroiler witha heat shield and stand

$10,000 from the Highland Band Booster Club for storage for the band at HPHS

$10,000 from the Park Cities Dads’ Club for the purpose of supporting HPHS’ 2013 graduation

$5,890 from the Highland Park Sports Club for a new high-jump landing system for HPMS

$5,000 from the Bradfield PTA for the Johnny O’Leary memorial

$3,015 from PC-TAG to purchase five iPads with service contracts and covers for the HPHS English department

$2,865 from the UP Elementary PTA for t-shirts and snacks for Camp Write-Along and Read-A-Lot

$2,835 from La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas for Bradfield Elementary

$2,500 from the Armstrong Bradfield Preschool Association for Armstrong Elementary

$2,205 from the Highland Park Sports Club for the boys track program

$1,600 from the HP Booster Club for a display cabinet for the HPHS Decathlon team

$1,556 as an in-kind gift from Amy Garrison on behalf of the parents of the boys basketball team for a sofa

$1,125 from HPHS’ Sports Club for HPHS flags for the cheerleaders and Scotsmen

$1,000 from the Academic Scots Booster Club for a display cabinet  for the HPHS Academic Decathlon team

$1,000 from Mr. and Mrs. William Cave for McCulloch Intermediate School

$500 from the Wells Fargo employee pledge of Jeff and Julie Carberry. This gift will go to supplies

$350 from the Special Education Parents Advisory Committee (SEPAC) for special education supplies and classroom instructional supplies for Bradfield Elementary

$350 from the Special Education Parents Advisory Committee (SEPAC) for a microwave, visual communication binders, and Velcro for Armstrong Elementary

$300 for Armstrong Elementary from PC-TAG for Allison Carr. This gift will be used to purchase hands-on math kits

$82.15 from Suzana Gordon Creative Designs for art supplies for Armstrong Elementary

 $82.15 from artist Phyllis Mabus for art supplies for Armstrong Elementary
