Miss Texas USA is a Highland Park Graduate

Did you know that Ali Nugent, a 2011 graduate of Highland Park High School, is the reigning Miss Texas USA, which means she’ll be competing in the Miss USA pageant on June 16 in Las Vegas? I certainly didn’t until I was clued in by former People Newspapers columnist Karley Osborn, a one-time contestant in the Miss Texas pageant, which is something separate and distinct from the Miss Texas USA pageant. (Head spinning yet?)

Apparently, Nugent is a longtime pageant contestant, securing the title of Miss Gingerbread before reaching the age of 2. The daughter of Warren and Jamie Nugent followed in the footsteps of her mother, “a pageant veteran” according to Ali’s bio on the Miss Texas USA website.

Also on the Miss Texas USA website are photos of Ali from that pageant’s evening gown and swimsuit competitions. If you need motivation to go to the gym, you should check ’em out. Wow.

The Miss Texas USA website pics are better as they include some action shots from the competition that are less than 100% photo-shopped. A true Texas beauty.

Agreed, Avid Reader. Those are the pics we’ll publish in the paper in early June, when we do a story advancing the Miss USA pageant.
