SMU Hosts Sustainability Events
In the spirit of Earth Day, SMU will be hosting a series of green-friendly, sustainability-themed events.
The fun kicks off at 7 p.m. on Thursday, with a showing of Living With the Trinity in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center Forum. The film’s writer/producer/director, Rob Tranchin, will give an introduction.
The next day, YERT: Your Environmental Road Trip will screen at 7 p.m., also in the Hughes-Trigg Theater.
Then on Saturday, catch the annual, student-organized “Barefoot on the Boulevard” music festival on Bishop Boulevard from noon to 5 p.m., featuring Emmanuel Jal.
After that, the Engineering and Humanity Week will run from April 6-12. The theme is “Water: Ripple Effects,” and aims to bring global solutions to Dallas. The water distribution camp will mimic sites in refugee camps on April 9 and 10. Keep an eye out for the “Refugees and Water” panel, led by Oxford University associate professor Alexander Betts.
Attendees can park on Bishop Boulevard until 6 p.m. April 9 and 10 p.m. April 10.
