Get Yourself a Free Copy of ‘Fahrenheit 451’

What do I have in common with DISD Superintendent Mike Miles, Dallas City Manager Mary Suhm, and the lovely ladies seen here? We all got up at half past dark this morning so we could pass out 1,000 free copies of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 at Union Station as part of The Big Read Dallas.

If you weren’t one of the confused commuters who accepted free books (despite today being April Fools’ Day), you can still get a complimentary copy. The first 15 people who send pictures of their home libraries or book-filled nightstands to dan.koller@peoplenewspapers.com will have books waiting for them at our reception desk. In fact, each winner will get two books — a copies for him/herself and a copy to pass on to a total stranger, thereby spreading the news about The Big Read.

By 10 a.m. tomorrow, I’ll let you know if you’ve won. Our office is at 750 N. Saint Paul St., Suite 2100. That’s on the southeast corner of Saint Paul and Ross Avenue.

I obviously needed more coffee this morning. (Photo: David Higbee)
