Hillcrest Splits, Thomas Jefferson Falls
The Hillcrest soccer teams split a pair of Class 4A bi-district playoff matches on Tuesday, while Thomas Jefferson’s boys were stunned.
The Panthers (15-8-3) beat Lucas Lovejoy, 1-0, to set up an area match against Mesquite Poteet later this week. The Lady Panthers (10-7-2) lost to Wylie, 5-0.
Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson, after making a run to the regional quarterfinals last season, dropped a 1-0 decision to Wylie East in bi-district. The Patriots finished 19-5-1.
