March to Whole Foods For Fun, Philanthropy

If you don’t follow Whole Foods on social media start. They’ve always got fun things going on, but unless you stare at the events board when you’re at the store, you’re apt to miss out on the fun. Here’s a few things area stores have going on this week.

Registered nurse, herbalist, farmer, and co-founder of Oregon’s Wild Harvest Randy Buresh is talking about natural herbs and herbal supplements tonight at 6:30 at the Highland Park Whole Foods. The seminar is free and what’s more they’ll be handing out free samples.

But hold off on the real shopping until Wednesday, when the Highland Park store will be donating 5 percent of its net proceeds to the SPCA of Dallas for Community Giving Day.

If you live nearer the Park Lane store, the proceeds from Community Giving Day will benefit Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital to help support Women and Infants Services at the Margot Perot Center.

On Thursday you can head back to the Park Lane store for Cheese Making 101 at 6:30 p.m. to learn how to make ricotta, queso blanco, and mozzarella for just $5. You can register here.

I just wish Whole Foods would stop power washing in the middle of the night. The noise is unreal at that time.
