Applications Open For UP Youth Advisory Commission
If you will be in 9th-12th grade during the 2013-2014 school year and have an interest in local government, listen up. University Park is looking for applicants for the Youth Advisory Council.
In order to be selected, you must be a resident of UP. You will help out with community initiatives such as recycling, and assist with big events including the summer fishing derby, July 4 Fun Run, and the Snider Plaza Christmas tree lighting. Members must attend all group meetings. You also act as an advisory group for the city on topics that might impact teens. Did we mention you get community service hour credits?
The city takes more than 20 members. Applications are available through the city website, and interviews start in April. Good luck!
