Miller Newcomer of Year

Highland Park senior wing Will Miller was named the Newcomer of the Year on the All-District 10-4A basketball team. Miller averaged 11.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He also led the team in perimeter shooting with 55 3-pointers.

Teammate Chase Fletcher, another senior wing, was a first-team selection. Fletcher averaged 14.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Matt Fraschilla, who had 259 assists, was named to the second team. Junior guard Matthew Crites and senior wing Trey Garrison earned honorable mention.

West Mesquite’s Braylon Rayson was named the district’s Most Valuable Player. Newman Smith’s Stephen Spurlock was named Offensive MVP, while teammate Walter Rickett was named Defensive MVP. Creekview’s Larry Hughes was named Sophomore of the Year. Newman Smith, the district champion, also earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
