Perri Spencer Sammis and Emanuel Brighiu exchanged wedding vows July 14, 2012, at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Their ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Nelson Bell II, whose father, the Rev. Clayton Bell, married the bride’s parents in the same church 25 years ago. A reception followed at Brook Hollow Golf Club with entertainment provided by Signed Sealed Delivered. A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the parents of the groom, was held on the eve of the wedding at Eddie Deen’s Ranch with music provided by the Heritage Bluegrass Band.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Anderson Sammis of Highland Park. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman M. Spencer Jr. of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. William Sammis of Pocasset, Mass., and Mrs. Pauline Sammis of Bradenton, Fla.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She was escorted down the aisle on the arm of her father. She wore a custom designed strapless Watters gown of embroidered lace with sweetheart neckline, covered buttons from the back to the train, and silken sash. She completed her look with a teardrop-shaped chapel-length veil of French silk tulle, edged in scalloped lace, and framed by horse-hair ribbon. The bride donned a custom-made bolero jacket over her gown for the wedding but removed it and the sash for the reception, adding a crystal-beaded belt for the festivities.

The bride carried a lace monogrammed handkerchief bearing her initials and wedding date, the same handkerchief carried by her mother on her wedding day, a family heirloom passed down from her great-grandmother. The bridal bouquet was of white and ivory florals, including garden roses, peonies, gardenias, freesia, and hydrangea.

Assisting the bride as maids of honor were her sisters, Paige Anderson and Parker Nason Sammis. Bridesmaids were Kensey Adair Gilbert, Meghan Jean Jahr, Caroline Collins Lorio, Elizabeth Ashley Nemer, Emily Spencer Owens, Anderson McGuire Pearce, and Shannon Christine Wallace. Members of the house party included Sara Elizabeth King and Kathleen Rowe Ward.

Attending the groom as best man was Cosmin Dumitru Cotet. Groomsmen included Bogdan Stefan Borta, Mark David Godvin Jr., Cameron Ray Nash, Mihai Nichifor, Zachary Joseph Nichols, Casey Alexander Powers, and Christopher James Price. Philip Cook Chapman and Paul Merrill Chappell were ushers.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Highland Park High School. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas Christian University in 2011. Perri is a credit analyst at Southwest Securities, FSB. The bride is a board member of Young at Heart and a member of the Slipper Club.

The groom graduated from Iasi High School in Romania. He received a Bachelor of Science in communications from Texas Christian University in 2011. Emanuel is a tennis professional who was voted Most Valuable Player in TCU men’s tennis in 2011. He is a four-time Mountain West Player of the Week and was named to the Mountain West All-Conference Team in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011.
