ESD Has a Big Heart … No, Really

Lower School students made one giant heart last week in honor of Valentine’s Day.

It all started when a Beginner class read a book on “the most beautiful valentine,” and the children were inspired. They decided to attempt the world’s largest valentine, and donate it to Scottish Rite Hospital. The canvas, covered in pink, red, and purple hearts, is 9×12 feet. The front reads, “Happy Valentine’s Day. Love Your ESD Friends.” It was delivered on Thursday afternoon, and now hangs in a Scottish Rite lobby. About 20 kids and their parents went to present the valentine.

During the painting sessions, children learned songs about love to sing in chapel.

“Valentine’s Day makes me happy because I tell all my friends I love them,” one student said.

Aww. Now, doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Us, too.
