Celebrate Shrove Tuesday With Stacks of Flapjacks
Mardi Gras ends today with the traditional Shrove Tuesday celebration, which in my family usually consists of a big pancake dinner before deciding on what we’re going to give up, or take on for the traditional Lenten season.
Churches across the Park Cities are hosting their own festivities and if like me you’re returning to the area, or are really just looking for an affordable fun night, it’s the perfect opportunity to visit a new place and eat as many pancakes as you can.
Here’s a few options worth considering:
Church of the Incarnation: With food catered by Preston Hollow Catering, music from the Texas Gypsies, arts and crafts, and a kids parade attending this Episcopal offering costs a pleasing $5 per person. The celebration starts at 6 p.m. Click on the link to find out how to RSVP.
University Park United Methodist Church: Hosted by the church’s young adults, the dinner from 5:30-7:30 p.m. also costs just $5 and will be hosted in their Activity Center. The proceeds from the dinner will benefit Project Transformation.
Saint Michael and All Angels: The Men of Saint Michael team up with Parish Life Events to host this annual pancake feast. Head over at 5:30 p.m. for breakfast for dinner, including bacon, coffee, and a plethora of yummy pancake toppings for $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Click on the link to RSVP.
