Allen, Tuma Earn 10-4A Superlatives
Highland Park quarterback Jet Tuma and head coach Randy Allen both earned top spots on the All-District 10-4A Team. Tuma, a 6-2, 185 senior, was named Most Valuable Player, while Allen was named Coach of the Year.
The Scots went undefeated in district play to win the 10-4A championship for the fourth straight season. Tuma threw for 1,604 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed for 708 yards and 15 touchdowns to lead the team to a 9-2 season and become the unanimous choice for MVP.
Numerous Scots earned first-team honors, including running back Hank Howard, wide receiver Anthony Vallera, center William Barns, guards Charlie McKenzie and Hilton Kennington, and tackle Ethan Beasley on offense. On defense, tackle Jack Ceverha, end Andrew Clyde, and linebackers Bryce Green, Tanner Houghton, and Chris Mitchell all earned first-team nods.
