Scots Win Burkburnett Tournament
The Highland Park boys basketball won the Burkburnett Union Square Holiday Classic this past weekend with three straight victories.
Senior wing Chase Fletcher was also named the tournament’s most valuable player after leading the team in scoring in two of the three victories. In the opener, the Scots (10-3) rolled past Plainview, 52-32, behind 11 points from Fletcher and 10 from Clayton Murtha.
Next, Highland Park dismantled Canyon Randall, 48-19, on the strength of 10 points from Fletcher. In the title game, the Scots beat Whitehouse, 68-41, with Will Miller leading the way with 18 points. Murtha also had 17 in that contest.
Highland Park returns home to host Plano at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
