After sewing up their school-record fourth straight bowl berth with a 35-27 win over Tulsa on Saturday, SMU accepted a bid to play in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Eve. The Mustangs’ opponent, which will come from the Mountain West Conference, is still to be determined.

The last time the Ponies (6-6) played in the Hawaii Bowl, they demolished Nevada, 45-10, in 2009. That was the first time SMU had played in the postseason in 25 years.

Mustangs head coach June Jones, who coached Hawaii prior to coming to the Hilltop, is 4-1 in the Hawaii Bowl.
