Thieves Target More Third-Row Seats, Shingles

Roofing companies and large families now have more in common than hail-damaged homes as each were victims of multiple thefts and burglaries during the past week.

Between Wednesday and Monday, six SUV owners are now missing a third-row seat while roofers had thieves take supplies left outside multiple job sites. The three roofing companies that were hit this past week were cleaned out — shingles, tools,  an assortment of roofing materials — for more than $12,000 combined.

These ne’er-do-wells are making a habit of opportunities that are being handed to them. If you have an SUV, take the proper steps to protect your property. By now, those riding in their Suburbans should know that the popping open the back hatch can bypass the alarm. Park you car in your garage, back it up to the door, or take the seat out if it’s not being used.
