Drybar Opens at NorthPark This Friday

Drybar has already set up shop in Plano’s Shops at Legacy and the Shops at Highland Park. This Friday, one’s opening at NorthPark. And according to my email, it’s going to be the biggest Drybar yet. Which means it’s going to be a good hair day, every day. How’s that for a Halloween treat?

Never booked an appointment? Here’s what they offer: “No cuts. No color. Just blowouts.” Best news: no matter which style you choose, the price is $35. The offerings have fun names like The Straight Up (silky smooth), Southern Comfort (big hair, bigger volume), and — my personal favorite — the Mai Tai, which loaded my head with beachy, Kate Hudson-esque waves. I love Drybar so much, I might have to open a bartab at the new location.

    I hope it’s better than the one in HP. I have tried them and did not find their stylists knew what they were doing. I really wanted to like this place and think the concept is great, but they don’t deliver, at least not for me.

    Please check the water pressure at the HP location. I was there back in August, the stylist used way too much shampoo & conditioner and I feel wasn’t able to rinse my hair thoroughly. When I commented on it she said it’s always like that – so then why use so much shampoo/conditioner! My blow dry was okay but I wasn’t blown away. I feel like the stylist was in too much of a hurry.

    I also did not have a good experience at the HP location. Way too much shampoo and conditioner used and then my blow dry looked like a child did it. I will never go back. The stylist knew it did not look good when I left but no one cared enough at that time to speak with me.

    Update: Julie was super quick to respond online to my post regarding my experience at Drybar, 58 minutes. She expressed her concern and how important it is that every customer has an excellent experience. I called her that day to discuss, as I said I would. That was 5 days ago, and she has yet to return my call. Apparently she’s not really that concerned about my experience; she just wants the online community to believe that she is. Hope you make it Drybar. You’ve got a great concept just lousy customer service and stylists.

    Would you believe that Julie called me one minute after I hit send?? I will have to rescind my comments. She was very nice and apologetic and offered me a complimentary blowout which I accepted for a time in December. Hopefully it will all go well!
