After wrapping up a perfect run through District 10-4A play with a 25-7, 25-8, 25-9 sweep of Forney on Tuesday night, the Highland Park Lady Scots volleyball team has set up its Class 4A bi-district playoff match.

Highland Park (35-6) will take on Frisco Liberty (17-21) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Carrollton R.L. Turner. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. The winner will move on to face the Seagoville-Samuell winner in the area round later next week.

The Lady Scots will also face Class 5A Hebron (24-14) in a warm-up match at 5 p.m. Friday at Highlander Fieldhouse.

It would have a been a real shock if they hadn’t won district. Last year’s UIL re-districting moved out all of HP’s competition. JJ Pearce, McKinney and Rockwall Heath went to 5A and Wylie is in another 4A district. Regardless, hope they do well.

Thank you for your opinion and for supporting individuals’ freedom to make their own lifestyle choices without being degraded for it. Much of the media is against anything traditional, so it’s good that the other side of opinions gets some voice as well.

@MGBHStar- Yes, you are correct the District is easier without Pearce, Mckinney and Rockwall. However, I would not discount the fact they fared better in Pearland this year than any team since 2008 ( State tournament where they play the best teams in both 4 and 5 A), have beat Creekview twice (the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year) and beat Hebron easily this past Friday night ( Hebron is 5 A with Div 1 recruits – they actually beat Coppell earlier in the season). They play Frisco Liberty on Tuesday – which we all hope is the first of many victories on their way to the State tournament. This is a fun team to watch with alot of heart!

@Jaye Cowling – put the pipe down. We’re talking about high school volleyball, not whatever the hell you’re talking about.
