New Reality Show Seeking Dallas Debutantes

In a sea of white cupcake dresses, how does a deb stand out? By flashing a winning smile, executing a perfect Texas dip, and starring in her own reality show, of course.

And no, we’re not talking about Big Rich Texas.

Word on the street (okay, in our inbox) is that Texas native/LA casting director Alicia Good is seeking starlets. Now that she’s signed on with Original Media (the “i die” production team behind The Rachael Zoe Project), Alicia’s getting back to her cowboy boots n’ roots: the company is currently casting for a new series “about Texas debutantes and all that goes into making them special,” aided by consultant/cast member Kimberly Schlegel Whitman.

A few more details c/o Alicia:

  • The show is for “a major women’s network” that will soon be announced, and is expected to follow mother/daughter pairs throughout all deb-related preparations (choosing a dress, dance practices, etc).
  • Producers are looking primarily to feature mothers and daughters, but ball committee members and honor guards/escorts are also welcome to apply.
  • Taping will begin in 2013, and the final episode will feature all selected girls debuting at their respective balls.

So, debutantes. If you’re interested in making your (television) debut, send Alicia an email with a few lines about why you and your momma (or your dad, escort, or BFF) are the stuff of her casting dreams: TexDebShow@gmail.com.

While you’re at it, comment below and tell us: Are you interested in applying? Why or why not?

This sounds like another terrible idea. Please re-think joining this boondoggle if you have any self respect.

Oh my gawd. You can’t be serious. For the love of god and our sanity can we please do away with reality tv, kim schegal whitman, debutants and exploitation of wealth and personality disorders?

Doesnt participating in such a debacle sort of cancel out, or at least run counter to, debutante-ness? It’s like a show titled “Miss America Strippers”… Pretty sure real debs would understand the double-standard?

Any deb who chooses to be a part of this crap deserves to be finaled (Pronounced: “Pha-Nnal-Leed”, the opposite of Debut)
