Christine Anne Frenzel, born in Fairfax, Va. on May 10, 1987, departed on Sept. 23, 2012 and resided in Dallas, TX.
Christine, age 25, of Dallas, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, in a tragic accident in Downtown Dallas. The only daughter of Laura and John Frenzel, Christine was born in Fairfax, Virginia on May 10, 1987.
Prior to starting scho
ol, Christine lived in London, England before moving to Geneva, Switzerland where she spent two years in a local Swiss school where the language barrier never prevented her from being one of the most well liked and popular children in the school.
After moving to Dallas in the fall of 1992, Christine attended Oak Hill Academy before transferring to the Shelton School from which she graduated in May 2006. Christine attended the University of Denver before returning to Dallas to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design at the Art Institute of Dallas. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in June 2012.
Christine joined the Girl Scouts of America while she was in 2nd grade and ultimately earned the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, on April 11, 2006. As part of her Gold Award community service project, Christine taught nutrition and etiquette to homeless children at the Annette G. Strauss Family Gateway Center in Dallas.
Christine played volleyball in high school and earned the District 2-4A All-District Volleyball Sportsmanship Award and was TAPPS District 2-4A All District Volleyball. She was actively involved in the theatre, and her smiling face graced the poster for the Shelton School’s performance of Movement House. An avid
equestrian, Christine rode horses at Rocking M Stables in Dallas up through high school. In addition, she translated her love for horseback riding into community service by volunteering at Equest Therapeutic Horsemanship, a therapeutic riding center for children and adults with all types of disabilities and learning differences.
Christine will be remembered for her engaging and upbeat personality. She had a wonderful heart and was willing to go above and beyond to help those she cared about. She made friends easily and was always looking forward to finding fun activities and social gatherings with friends old and new.
She will be deeply missed by her family which she cared for so much, her parents, Laura and John Frenzel of
Dallas, and two brothers, Robert Frenzel of Dallas and Michael (Paige) Frenzel of Oklahoma City. Two aunts, Delores McIntosh and Bonnie Frenzel; three cousins, Joseph W. (Lisa) Frenzel, III and their children Joseph W. “Jake” Frenzel IV, Holly Frenzel, and Noel Frenzel; Jere Frenzel; and Sara Frenzel; as well as numerous extended family members complete the family.
Dr. Bill Avaritt led a service celebrating Christine’s life on September 27, 2012, in the Northwest Highway Chapel of Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
