Are Scots Going For 70 or 71 Straight Home Wins?

In today’s edition of The Plaid Report — sports editor Chuck Cox’s weekly newsletter about all things Scots — the length of the Highland Park football team’s home winning streak is debated. In our season preview, Chuck wrote a story that said the streak stood at 68 games; it has since been extended to 69, thanks to Highland Park’s defeat of Monterrey Tec on Sept. 7.

Well, a reader pointed out to us that Highland Park played an “away” game at Highlander Stadium in 2000 because of poor conditions at Lancaster’s home field. The Scots won that game, but that victory was not counted in the 68 games. Should it have been? I’m leaning toward yes; Chuck is leaning toward no.
