Megan Elizabeth Harris and Richard Currie Howard exchanged wedding vows July 21, 2012 at Park Cities Baptist Church. The ceremony was officiated by the couple’s pastor, Rev. Steve Schorr, First Presbyterian Church, Midland, Texas. A reception of dining and dancing followed at the Dallas Country Club. On the eve of the wedding a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Arlington Hall in Lee Park.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Harris Jr. of University Park. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Geneva Odom of Lake Providence, La. and Mr. Robert Daniel Martin of West Monroe, La. and the late Dr. and Mrs. William A. Harris of Lake Providence, La.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill J. Howard of Midland, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Richard Currie of Garden City, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Howard of Stanton, Texas.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father. For her wedding Megan wore an elegant gown of ivory silk organza and Alencon lace, designed by Anne Barge for Neiman Marcus. The fitted gown was fashioned with appliquès of lace and featured a sweetheart neckline. The gown had a silk organza twist and a triple tiered skirt. Her train swept gracefully at chapel- length.

To complete her ensemble, the bride wore a single layer of illusion, delicately accentuated with tiny pearls. Her mother first wore the veil on her own wedding day, March 13, 1982. Megan wore a pair of antique pearl earrings that matched her paternal grandmother’s antique pearl and sapphire bracelet.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Caroline Shuford and her bridesmaids included Susan Ashley Richburg, Brinn Bettis, Helen Coffee, Rachel Tilley, Lee Bobo, Nicole Potter, Riley Potter, and Brett Ford. Members of the house party were Clansey Flautt, Blair Dorrough, Lyndsey Fry, Cody Silverman, and Mollie Frances Thompson. Caroline Martin and Elizabeth Howard were flower girls.

The two best men aiding the groom were his brothers Stephen Howard and Chris Howard. Groomsmen included Will Harris, Alan Pender, Stephen Lechtenberg, Kelly Strickling, Seth Hudson, Dusty Wallace and Jody Verret.

Ushers were Turner Bettis, Jayson Adams, Conner Wood, Guy Ellis, Michael Blonkvist, Holt Martin, and Matt Lucas. The three young ring bearers were Jack Martin, Currie Howard and Holt Howard.

The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Mississippi, where she was also a member of Delta Delta Delta. She is a member of The Junior League of Midland.

The groom is a graduate of Midland High School. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He is employed by CBIZ Stoltz.

Following their wedding trip to Jalousie Plantation on St. Lucia, the newlyweds have made their home in Midland, Texas.
